Sr. Software Validation Engineer: permanent

This is a FTE permanent position located in Minneapolis.

The company is a consulting organization that specializes in the wireless, FPGA, PCB, and software design realm. In addition to being a crack team of engineering all-stars, they're also partnered with one of the largest wireless networking providers in the country.

SR. SOFTWARE VALIDATION ENGINEER

You'll provide technical leadership for the design, development, modification, and execution of software and embedded firmware testing based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specs to ensure high levels of quality for software product releases.

Software Validation Process Development:
-Demonstrated understanding of the software development life cycle and V&V relevance
-Develops and maintains processes for software/firmware validation activities.
-Investigates and implements tools for software/firmware validation automation.


Software Validation Test Planning:
-Designs, develops, executes and modifies tests based on standards, user requirements, end-user scenarios, and design specifications.
-Develops test plans for small projects or functional test areas.
-Develops software quality planning documents based on project/contractual requirements.


Software Validation:
-Designs, develops, modifies and executes test cases written in Tcl, Expect, Perl, Python or other appropriate test languages.
-Designs, develops, modifies and executes test applications written in C, C++ or Java.
-Where applicable, automates test cases for reliable, unattended execution on a repeated basis. Installs, modifies and maintains test beds, fixtures and equipment.
-Evaluates test results, troubleshoots and debugs situations or data.
-Maintains issues logs and assists software development personnel in addressing issues.
-Assists other engineers in the evaluation of complex software test results.


Software Validation Documentation:
-Accurately completes documentation on test results and analysis, for customer review and concurrence.
-Reviews software validation results developed by others.
-Reports test status to system engineer or project manager.
