SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER opportunity: SW metro

*This is a permanent FTE position in the SW metro.

This organization is the premier EHR software company in the growing post-acute care niche. Growth has been catapulted to new heights due to implementation of the Affordable Care Act as well as population demographics.  They're looking for a SW Manager from the Java environment experienced in the SaaS / product realm.

Software Development Manager

Our Product Development team is looking for a strong technical leader to drive strategic initiatives to help conceive, design and implement the next generation platform for the company’s products.
This role requires working with Product Managers to help define requirements and timelines to implement products as well as leading multiple cross-functional development teams through design, planning and delivery. This position involves regular communication with senior management on progress, risks and change control. Ability to lead extended cross-discipline virtual teams as well as project management and executive presentation skills are essential.
The ideal candidate is a creative, demonstrated leader/manager with superior analytical abilities. This opportunity requires excellent technical, problem-solving, and communication skills. At the core of the position is planning, execution and delivery. Ideal candidates have extensive experience with product build and delivery plans, working with teams spread across different time zones and understanding the cultural differences. Ideal candidates thrive in rapidly advancing, changing, delivery-focused environments.
Candidates will have knowledge of the following: SaaS architecture, distributed software, product development, build processes, project management and release models. Candidates will have 5 or more years of relevant work experience - typically in internet-related or software application development environments.

Preferred Experience and Skills

-Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science
-7 years direct experience in software development. Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development and implementation of software solutions.
-5+ years web application development experience in Java
-5+ years architect experience
-Three to five years progressive leadership experience
-Experience with Object oriented programming, MVC, Java, HTML, SaaS
-Web services API integrations
-Database experience with SQL Server. Experience with database design, querying, stored procedures, views, joins and functions.
-Independently solve complex problems, assist the team with troubleshooting issues and bugs.
-Strong analytical skills; Ability to collect, organize data; summarize findings and develop conclusions and recommendations.
-Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization, including management and end users.
-Knowledge of and exposure to "Big Data" architecture and design
