UNIX / Linux Systems Administrator: permanent

This is a FTE perm position located in the SW suburbs.

UNIX / LINUX SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

The company is a very high profile Minnesota organization that has been a strong growth story. They're close to a century old and are the largest employee owned company in their industry.

We're looking for a UNIX / Linux Systems Admin. with the following:

Responsibilities include:
-participating in and supporting the architecture and development of strategic goals for enterprise UNIX/Linux systems.
-work with application DBAs and production DBAs to implement a UNIX/Linux OS.
-install and config. systems based on standards including PCI reqs.
-establish appropriate end-user access control levels to adhere to PCI compliance.
-responsible for taking first responder (24/7) calls shifts on a regular rotation.
-responsible for 24/7 on-call problem resolution in your area of system expertise and authority to escalate as necessary.
-troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis of complex end user and server problems.

Technically:
-UNIX/Linux Sys Admin. exp.
-strong customer service and communication skills required.
-exp. troubleshooting complex systems issues strongly preferred.
-exp. administering web server apps hosted on Unix (any variant) a plus.
-exp. installing and maintaining Apache, Tomcat, PHP, Blastwave, Hobbit, Solaris security toolkit a plus.
-exp. working with Solaris Virtualization (containers, zones).
-exp. with RHEL, Red Hat enterprise Linux a plus.
-strong knowledge of Security PCI compliance, implementation, documenting process and procedures a plus.
