TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST opportunity: SW metro (Minneapolis) or Dallas

*This is an FTE permanent position in the SW Twin Cities or Dallas.

This company is a market leader within their innovative and relevant healthcare niche.  Their commercial software products serve elderly populations in coordinating and facilitating the post-acute services continuum in the context of national healthcare

*Experience in the SaaS/commercial software realm is essential for qualification.  Strong knowledge and understanding of relevant technologies is also essential.

TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST
This individual is critical for bridging the gap between market- and customer-driven requirements that articulate a client’s high-level needs and the detailed specifications developers need to code best-in-class software.

The ideal candidate is a self-driven and diligent professional with a thorough understanding of technology. He/she is detailed-oriented and capable of writing and communicating software requirements specifications while articulating the impact of larger product strategies and or customer needs.

This is a highly collaborative role that requires significant communication skills, teamwork and leadership. External stakeholders include customers, industry consultants, third-party long-term care organizations and state and federal regulatory agencies. Internal stakeholders will include other business analysts, software engineers, quality assurance testers, product managers, marketing, sales and senior management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
•              Assist the Product Manager and product development to deliver effective solutions through activities including:
•              Eliciting requirements, organizing requirements, translating and simplifying requirements, analyzing, documenting and sharing requirements
•              Contribute to the design or review of test cases
•              Monitor and assess change requests and customer feedback
•              Monitor scope and release dates for risks and contingencies
•              Evaluate potential changes to improve acceptance, installation and deployment
•              Utilize established and emerging tools and techniques for software requirements
•              Collaborate with customers and end users to understand detailed feature or functionality needs
•              Understand and translate product and business strategy into features and functionality that delivers significant value to clients and end users
•              Create and maintain documents for design of product functionality including
•              use cases, activity and process flow diagrams
•              formal process mapping, glossary, data dictionary, non-functional requirement specifications, and requirements management reports
•              functional requirements, system interface requirements, reporting requirements, data requirements, non-functional requirements
•              Incorporate relevant state and federal regulation changes into assigned products
•              Contribute to thought leadership efforts such as white papers and conference presentations


Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•              Proven knowledge of software design, SDLC, software requirements documentation
•              Excellent verbal and written communication skills with various audiences including peer groups, development staff, customers, senior management, current and potential partners and the industry at large – both technical and non-technical personnel
•              Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi task
•              Ability to research, interpret, and document industry trends and regulatory changes
•              Clear and direct approach with an emphasis on bottom-line progress
•              Strong project management and presentation skills
•              Ability to work in a fast pace environment and work on multiple projects at once

•              Bonus: industry knowledge of Assisted Living
o             Knowledge of different operational areas of Assisted Living organizations of different sizes, regulatory landscape, future challenges and current/future software utilization


Education and Experience:
•              Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following required: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Management & Technology.
•              2+ years’ experience as a Technical Business Analyst for SaaS
•              Experience with Agile development methodology,
•              Experience collaborating with remote/satellite teams

•              Bonus:
o             Experience as an administrator or technology leader for a long-term care organization
o             Experience within an Agile development environment, SaaS
o             Experience with committees and boards involved with policy-making at the state and federal level
